Kwik Cricket

Kwik Cricket is a softball version of cricket played by children of all ages up to the final year at junior school. It is an excellent way for youngsters to learn and practice the basic rudiments of the game in comparative safety.

Boxted Cricket Club is pleased to be able to offer Kwik Cricket coaching sessions for both boys and girls in school years 3,4,5 and 6(ages 7 to 11 approximately). All sessions will be run by ECB qualified coaches and appropriately CRB checked assistants.

Coaching sessions for the 2008 season will commence on Saturday 10 May starting at 10.00am finishing at 11.30am. These sessions will run throughout the summer. Further information can be obtained from Paul Harris (Club Chairman) on 01206842589 or 07802798633 or by e-mail on murphy.harris@btinternet.com.

Please note that at the first session each child must produce a completed contact/medical details slip from our information leaflet. This leaflet can be found on our website and must be signed by a parent/guardian.

We firmly believe that cricket should be played with dignity and within the spirit of the long standing traditions of the game. To this end we ask all those associated with the Club to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times. The Club has produced a series of acceptable codes of conduct which clearly set out our standards in this regard. Details of these codes of conduct appear on the following pages.

We also recognise the extra vulnerability of our younger members and consequently are very pleased, As a Club to fully adopt and endorse the ECB policy “Safe Hands – Welfare of Young People in Cricket.” In addition to this the Club is working towards the ECB/Sport England accreditation award “Clubmark” which recognises cricket clubs as safe, effectively managed and child friendly,

Full details of our junior membership requirements also appear on the following pages. Further information can be obtained from the Club Welfare Officer upon request.
